About the play
A Primetime Christmas: A Christmas collection of TV comedies and commercials is written by Sean A. Slagle. It is produced by special arrangement with Contemporary Drama Service, Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is their synopsis: “Channel surfing at church? Absolutely – no remote required! These snippets from popular television formats include spoofs of a talk show where “Opriah” interviews Mary and Elizabeth, a game show where “What is the meaning of Christmas?” stumps contestants, a reality show about a pastor vs. a Hollywood director at his church’s pageant and a newscast featuring field reporters interviewing shepherds. Interspersed are hilarious commercials for Jonah’s Deep Sea Fishing, Abel’s Canes, the Miracle Diet (five loaves and two fishes) and more – a pastiche of approaches!”
